MYSTIX MONDAY PREMIERE PRESENTS : K.R. Morrison!

When she’s not writing or drumming in two female-driven rock bands, K.R. Morrison teaches English Literature and Creative Writing to high school students at Galileo in San Francisco, CA.

Morrison recently featured on two popular Bay Area’s podcasts, Bitchtalk and Storied: San Francisco about being an educator, musician, and writer in a city that’s rapidly changing. She has featured for many curations throughout the Bay Area, most recently a women identified series called Eves at the Beat.  Apart from reading her poetry at art events in Los Angeles and New Orleans, Morrison featured for curations in New York in June, 2019. Her poetry has been published by Switchback, Quiet Lightning, Haight Ashbury Literary Journal, and the Gasconade Review. Morrison recently finished a chapbook searching for a publisher home called “Cauldrons” while she finishes a larger poetry collection entitled, “From Her Wrist.” Once the manuscript is finished, she hopes to have it published by a press that reflects the priorities she voices in her writing.

 

MYSTIX POETS Profile: Migène Gonzalez Wippler

 

Migène González-Wippler was born in Puerto Rico and has degrees in psychology and anthropology from the University of Puerto Rico, and from Columbia University, from where she earned a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology. In addition to her solid background in social sciences she has also worked as a science editor for the Interscience Division of John Wiley, the American Institute of Physics, and the American Museum of Natural History, and as an English editor for the United Nations in Vienna, where she resided for many years.^{[citation needed]} She is a cultural anthropologist and lectures frequently at universities and other educational institutions.^{[citation needed]} She writes about Santeria-its practices, beliefs and organization.^[2]
